The Loneliest Highway

As the pandemic continued on and the news cycle exacerbated hard feelings and fear, the road continued to pull, a need to flee and be free was ever present within me, safety in seclusion became a cure. The Loneliest Highway became my way of understanding the pandemic and my personal journey through it. In following the Lincoln Highway across Nevada, I was able to connect to the landscape in solace, breathe in the freedom of space and come to understand my feelings of disassociation through this uncertain time. Through photographing these days spent on the road, I was able to connect to a deeper part of myself and develop catharsis of the moment and an empowerment to convey this era within the metaphors in the empty spaces. Within the lonely road and the continuous miles I found peace in solace, town to town nothing to be said or heard but the visual whispers of what came before and a hope in the betterment of tomorrow.
